Daychain
183-day chain

Can you do a monthly reset on the 1st for 6 months?

The Monthly Reset is a chain with one link per month. On the 1st of each month for six months you take a short, fixed slot to review the month that ended and plan the one ahead. Six links show a habit that suits slow rhythms: budgets, goals, photos, backups.

The rule

On the 1st of each month for 6 months, do your monthly reset and mark the month.

Miss a day?

Months are long and the 1st can be a bad day. A skip credit can protect a missed link automatically when one is available, and a repair credit helps if the chain breaks. Nothing is shamed in red.

How it works

  1. 1

    Decide what a reset is

Write a short checklist, for example review spending, set three goals for the month and tidy one space.

  2. 2

    Do it on the 1st

Block 20 minutes on the first day of the month, do the checklist and mark the link.

  3. 3

    Repeat for six months

After six months you have six resets on record. Keep the checklist, or change it as you learn what helps.
